MALAYSIAN-listed property developer Eastern & Oriental (E&O) is counting on Singaporeans to boost take-up of its Kuala Lumpur project this weekend.E&O is in town to launch Tower A at St Mary Residences, in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Launch prices begin at RM1,250 per square foot (S$518 psf) – ‘an unattainable value for a similar-sized condo in Singapore’, the company says.‘St Mary Residences’ winning edge is that it is in the heart of the CBD without the astronomical downtown prices seen in Singapore,’ says E&O executive director Eric Chan.A one-bedroom studio suite of 1,131 sq ft will be priced from RM1.105 million.

If you aren’t suspicious, and the advertiser tells you he is out of the country and will send you keys to see it for a deposit–be suspicious.  If you send the money, you have got what was coming to you. Good morning Conflucians! You know it’s a slow news day when the top story on all the popular news sites is a about a six-year old boy who may or may not have helped his family fake a crisis in order to get on TV. The New York Times even had this story linked on its front page! Supposedly, the boy, Falcon Heene of Fort Collins, CO., had been carried off by a helium balloon, and there was a frantic search until the boy was found hiding in the attic of his parents’ house in fear of punishment.

International development is a very important issue that is close to your heart. Can the country realistically afford to set money aside for international aid when the country is in so much debt? Obviously at a time of global financial crisis there will be pressure on all manner of spending but international aid is still vitally important. We know that we pay a much higher price in countries like Afghanistan when things go wrong and military intervention takes place.

I’ve been doing some research for a legal issue on a subject that isn’t usually too much interest to most readers here … US personal security clearances.  But I’ve come across some issues that really opened my eyes … I’ve been working with government security clearances for years, and I thought I knew a lot of the answers, but a lot of rules have changed, so I thought I would toss a little of this information out for discussion.
