I discovered Lorraine’s blog Not Quite Nigella last year. I remember that day, when I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat for a few hours on and off poring through all her posts. It is always exciting when you come across a great blog that has been around for a while, but you only just discovered it. There is so much wonderful content to sift through and delicious photographs to stare at. Intriguing as her blog name is, Lorraine draws you into her world slowly and surely and you can’t help but be affected by what affects her and the things she writes about.

The Arizona foreclosures list is growing. Currently, Arizona like many other states is undergoing some hardships. Many of the problems are related to stingy lenders who lured homeowners into inflated loans, such as the subprime and jumbo loans. Some of the other programs that are leading to Arizona foreclosures include unemployment. Like everywhere else in the world, Arizona is undergoing recession since many companies are moving overseas or else they are filing bankruptcy.

Let me start with the fact that when examining the different asset classes, real estate is generally far less volatile than shares and real estate tends to be the haven that investors flock to when other asset classes are suffering. Actually, it is true to say that investment properties can have many effect in terms of building long-term wealth, but we must never forget that this wealth is not supported! It is common knowledge that following the global real estate boom of the late 1980’s many investors learnt this hard lesson when they found their properties were worth far less than they had actually paid for them and the bottom seemingly fell out of the over-inflated market.
